COURT CHARGE FOLLOWS ACCIDENT WAIPUKURAU, Feb. 25. A sequel to an accident near Maka retu in which a woman passenger’: head was driven through the glas: windscreen following a collision be tween a motorcar and a motor-truck the driver of the truck, Gilbert Severinsen, of Makaretu, appeared before Mi J. Miller, S.M., in the Waipukurau Magistrate’s Court this morning chargee (1) with driving a motor vehicle oe February 10 without having a warrant of fitness for it, and (2) with failina to keep as close as possible to the lefthand side of the roadway. A plea o: guilty to the second charge was entered, but defendant pleaded not guilty to the first count A fine of 10/- with costs of the same amount was imposed on the charge of having no warrant ol fitness, and on the second charge Severinsen was fined £7 with costs 14/6. Constable Mullins, of Takapau, said that the charges were brought as a result of an accident in which oiys isjssenger in each car had been admitted to hospital.
