Republican Losses in Spain
16,288 PRISONERS TAKEN AT TERUEL , TERUEL,~Feb. 24. Tl la officially stated that between February 5 and February 22 the Nationalists captured 16.288 prisoners and found 9653 Republicans dead on the battlefields. The Nationalists have advanced six miles south of the city. The Daily Telegraph’s representative at San Sebastian states that General Franco’s troops, advancing southward from Teruel, have captured the villages of Villa Espese and La whence r artillery commands the valley for several miles. A aecond column has reached Vißi Altar. BRITAIN’S FORMULA ACCEPTED BY GERMANY. LONDON, Feb. 24. It is understood that Dr. Woe—nann, German Charge d ’Affaires, has accepted the British formula relating to Bp&in, dealing with the point at whieh belligerency will be granted in relation to the withdrawal of volunteers.
