From Our Own Correspondent. At a recent meeting of the Awahuri Women’s Institute it was decided to hold the flower show on March 5. the following members being appointed to the various positions: Secretary, Mrs A. Goodman; assistant secretary, Miss N. Dear; stewards, cut bloom section, Mesdames Redmayne, Nicholson and Miss Pearce: decorative, Mrs N. Campbell and Miss E. Henson; Vegetables, Mesdames Henderson and Terry;.children’s, section. Mrs Bishop; thrift, Mrs W. McCallum; domestic, Mesdames Rowlands, Christian. Hay thorn and Baker; door, Mesdames O’Farrell and Terry; afternoon tea, Mrs A. Montgomerie and helpers; judges’ 1 lunch. Miss D. Matthews. The. stewards and assistants are requested to be present the evening previous to the flower 1 show. Intending patrons are reminded that the Awahuri W.I. birthday will be held on March 1. It -has been decided to engage Larkin’s Orchestra, which should greatly popularise the function. There will be dancing, interspersed with items. The supper, which is always a special feature of these functions, will be provided as usual. Further particulars will be adver-tised-in -the- “Times” at a later date.
