Claim for Wages Upheld
ECHO or MANTLE STOKE BUSINESS. Reserved decision was given by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court yesterday in a case heard last Tuesday in which Rozctta Z. Duckworth, of Palmerston North, mantle store proprietress, proreeded against Arthur Hopwood, of Palmerstou North, hardware merchant, claiming £4l 16s Id wages or salary allegedly due. His Worship said he had come to the conclusion that there was not a partnership, and he thought plaintiff was entitled to award wages for the limited period during which she could recover under the Act. Judgment would accordingly be given for plaintiff for £27, with costs.
At the hearing Mr J. A. Grant appeared for plaintiff and Mr L. Lauren •on for defendant.
