SOUTH AFRICANS FOR BRITAIN. WIMBLEDON THE OBJECTIVE. South Africa’s team of women lawn tennis players to our Britain and the Continent this year is announced as follows: Mrs. Bobbie Heine Miller, Natal. Miss Margaret Morphew, Natal. Miss Sheila Piercey, South Transvaal. Miss Olive Craze, Southern Transvaal.

Mrs. J. H. Fitzgerald, who is secretary of the South African Lawn Tennis Union and will manage the team, told a Rand Daily Mail representative in December that no itinerary had as then been arrange 1 oversea, but it was practically certain that the players would concentrate on grass court practice in Britain right up to the time of the Wimbledon championships.

"The Wimbledon tournament is the main objective,” said Mrs. Fitzgerald, “and the authorities do not want the girls to prejudice their prospects by participating in any hard court tournaments prior to Wimbledon.”

The team will leave South Africa on April 22, from Capetown. The date of the players’ return has not been settled but will depend on the engagements arranged by Mr. Barker, South Africa’s London representative. There is a possibility of the team’s 1 participating in the German championships.-
