Ashhurst
From Our Own CorresDondentThere was a good attendance present at a meeting held by the young people of Ashhurst on Thursday evening. The meeting was called in order to form a club among the younger people and make efforts to hold social events and dances. The chairman for the evening was Mr B. ! Moore. It was agreed that the club should he called the Ashhurst Young Peoples' Club. The following committee was elected: Misses J. Wilkin, L. Grammer, L. Gavigan, Messrs I. Melver. M. Bailey, L. Hackett and R. Templeton. Miss J. Wilkin was elected temporary secretary. It was decided to hold an opening social early in March, when all members may bring friends. Items will be rendered by club members, games and dancing completing the evening’s entertainment.
Rev. and Mrs Foston are at present in Wellington, where Rev. Foston is attending the Methodist Conference.
Mrs Walter Gitto and her son, David, are paying a visit to Mrs Gitto’s mother, Mrs C. Harper, of Ashhurst.
