ANNUAL SWIMMING SPORTS. The annual swimming sports of the Palmerston North Technical High School were held in tho Municipal baths yesterday afternoon, and among the attendance was a fair sprinkling of parents. Competition was keen and some interesting contests were witnessed. The boys’ senior championship, with which goes the Colin Telford Memorial Cup, was won by Leighton Candy, while the girls’ senior championship (Essex Cup) went to Jeanette Scott. The Bert Hands Cups (boys’ and girls’ 220 yards were won by Leighton Candy and Joan Duckworth respectively. The inter-house championship was won by 'Tainui, with Arawa second and Rangitane third. The events were capably controlled by the teaching staff, headed by the director, Mr. H. N. Scott, while assistance was given by Messrs. D. MacLeod and Weston J. Smith.
