Girl Pillion Rider Injured
IN MOTOR COLLISION IN FEILDING Shortly before 5 o’clock last evening Miss B. Smith, of Levin, suffered rather serious facial injuries when the motorcycle on which she was riding pillion came into collision with a small motor delivery van at the corner of Kimbolton road and Aorangi street, opposite the Feilding Police Station. It appears that Miss Smith was riding on the motor-cycle driven by Mr. J. McFarla id, also of Levin, and proceeding down Kimbolton road towards the town. On reaching the intersection the delivery van which waß travelling up Kimboltc n road, turned to go down Aorangi street, the two vehicles meeting close to the corner adjacent to the police property. Both McFarland and his pillion rider were thrown heavily to the asphalt road, Miss Smith sustaining the more serious injuries. She was taken to Dr. W. D. Maclaurin’s surgery where it was found that she had suffered a fractured nose as well as injjuries to the mouth. Mr. McFarland was bruised about the right leg. The police later arrived on the scene and commenced investigations.
