Volley Into Jewish Taxi
AIR FORCE OFFICER KILLED Received Sunday, 7 p.m. HAIFA, Feb. 18. Squadron-l*»iider R. E. Alderson was killed when a volley was fired into a Jewish taxi in which he was a passenger. An English woman was seriously wounded and the driver slightly hurt. Police dogs were outsat dawn tracking down Aldersoij ’a .attac fc.er,s t . It js revealed Alderson'a .wife, who was also in the taxi, was slightly wounded. The other passenger, Miss Newman, had five wounds iu the leg and neck but her condition is not dangerous. ARAB SHOT TRYING TO BREAK CORDON Received Sunday, 11 p.m. JERUSALEM, Feb. 20. Police dogs trailed Alderson’s assailants to a village, where the authorities impounded 800 sheep and goats belonging to the inhabitants and shot dead an Arab attempting to break the cordon.
