Public Welcome to Mr. C.L. Hunter, M.P.
As advertised elsewhere in this issue, the Feilding branch of the New Zealand Labour Party has arranged a public welcome for Air. C. L. Hunter, M.P., in the Drill hall to-night. Mr. Hunter has recently taken up his residence in Feilding, and, as the present member for Manawatu electorate, will doubtless prove a valuable citizen to Feilding as well as an asset to the local branch of the Labour Party. The committee in charge of the function has been in touch with Labour Party branches in other parts of the electorate, and it is expected that not only Feilding, but other towns in the new Manawatu electorate, will be well represented.
As stated in the advertisement, the function will take the form of a cuehro party and dance, cards being played in the supper room till approximately 10 p.m., while dancing will be carried on in the main hall. The music for the evening will bo provided by Reid’s Accordian Band, and novelty numbers have been arranged. His AVorship the Mayor, Mr. T. Collins, will be present, and will officially welcome Air. Hunter to Feilding.
