Feilding Municipal Band
! _ MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the Feilding Municipal Band was held on Thursday evening, Mr. T. Collins (Mayor) presiding. Also present were Messrs A. Wood, J. Kent, W. H. Clayton, P. P. Stevens, Bould and W, Wilkinson. A tender for the transport of players to the contest at Palmert.ton North was accepted. Arrangements were made for a temporary overdraft at the bank for £.130 in connection with the purchase of the new instruments. In accordance with notice given rule 22 was rescinded and the following substituted: “That, in the event of the society being wound up or disbanded, the whole of the instruments and other assets shall automatically vest in the Feildim; Borough Council in trust for such mu sical purposes as the said council shall decide.” It was resolved that a letter be sent to Mr. W. Hickman, Wanganui, expressing sympathy to him in his illness. Mr. Hickman was a member of the Feilding Band some 30 years ago. Arrangements were made for a monthly inspection of’ the instruments. Accounts amounting to £663 18s Id were passed for payment, this sum including the final payment on the new instruments. The debit balance was reported to be £lOl 19s 6d.
