TRIAL GAME SUGGESTED TOR PALMERSTON NORTH.
Representations liave been made to the Mauawatu Hockey Association by the New Zealand Women's Hockey Association that arrangements be made for a trial match to be played in Palmerston North on June 18 for the purpose of assisting in the selection of the New Zealand side to meet the English women's hockey team to visit New Zealand next winter. The organiser of the English tour passed through Palmerston North yesterday and was interviewed by Mr W. H. Wilson on behalf of the Manawatu Hockey Association. Tko date suggested falls on the Saturday of the Manawatu Show, and representations have already been made that the match be staged in conjunction with it. The strength of the overseas team is stated to be greater than that of any English women's team yet sent on tour.
