Plane Contacts Soviet Polar Party

RETURNS WITH EQUIPMENT Jnlted Press Association—By auectrti Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Thursday, 8 p.m. LONDON, Peb. 17. A plane from the former icebreaker Murman landed on the icefloe on which Professor Papanin and members of the Soviet Polar Expedition are stranded, says the Moscow correspondent of the British United Press. The machine afterwards returned to the Murman. The Kiga correspondent of The Times says it is hoped to take off the greater part of the valuable equipment as well as members of the expedition, which is one of the reasons why the men were not taken off by air immediately by the Murman plane.
