RAIN DELAYS START OF WELLINGTON GAME Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. As a result of further steady rain in Wellington to-day, the wicket at the Basin Reserve for the final Plunkct Shield match of the season between Auckland (holders) and Wellington was very soft, with the outfield in a similar condition. While the weather shows signs of clearing, it is doubtful whether it will be possible to start play before 2 o’clock to morrow. There will be an inspection of the wicket in the morning, when the decision will be made.
