LACK OF POWER.
When your engine starts but does not pull, your carburetion is probably the cause. Black smoko coming from the exhaust is an indication of this. Another possible cause is valve leakage resulting in poor compression sticking ignition points, a weak or broken breaker spring, or retarded timing.
