On arrival tho visitors were wel corned by the matron (Miss D. Tho improvements carried out meant , that the room in which they were gathered would make it possiblo for , concerts of somo magnitude to bo held at tho home, and the chairs were a , timely gift. Tho Sunshino Club was well named, and if members continued to spread sunshino iu such a manner they would bo carrying on a wonderful work. He was sure the inmates would appreciate tho chairs, as well as the entertainment provided during the afternoon. Mr. Phillipps expressed ax>preciation of tho entertainment provided by Mr. J. Selwyn, -who, though a busy man, had found time to come to the home, and also of the kindly acts of the Sunshine Club and similar organisations in visiting the home. All through the hospital district splendid support was given by the women, and he was pleased to have the opportunity of acknowledging it. The programme opened with community singing led by Mr. Selwyn, who was assisted by Mrs. Iv. Jones, Mr. D. Reid, and Mr. Nash as accompanists. Mrs. Bigham, who is always a popular contributor, sang “ Annie Laurie," “Coming Thro’ the Rye," “The Floral Dance" and “Tho Kerry and led the community singing with Mrs. W. H. Boon at tho piano. Two little j pupils of Miss June Scott delighted the j gathering with tap dances, Miss Scott playing the accompaniments. Joy Burrell, who was wearing a tiny suit of •gold lamo and black, and a quaint cap adorned with a glistening gold leaf, captivated her audience. Coralie Biinkhorn was attired in a white satin sailor isuit with a sailor hat, and was a charming contributor. , Afternoon tea was served, tho dainties brought by visitors being greatly enjoyed. Mr. H. J. Canton, on behalf of tho inmates, thanked the visitors, and said that their next visit would be keenly anticipated. Musical honours and cheers were heartily accorded the inmates.
