From Oar Own Correspondent. Obituary. The news of the recent death in the Palmerston North Hospital, of Mr Robert Ernest Eagle, after an illness of only a lew weeks' duration, canio as a shocK to his friends. Of quiet and cheerful disposition and beloved by all who knew him, the late Mr Eagle belonged to an old Karorl family, being the eldest son of Mrs E. A. Eagle, and the late Mr John Eagle, both old Wellington identities. Born at Makara 62 years ago, he has been resident in Shannon lor the past sixteen years, and leaves to mourn their loss, his wife and nine children, three sons and six daughters. The sons, Messrs Robert, Frederick, and Sydney Eagle are all resident in Shannon, and of the daughters, Mrs Rex Newport lives at Ohau, and Misses Edna, Betty, Kathleen. Elsie and Mollie are at present in Shannon. Mi Eagle is also survived by four brothers, Messrs John Eagle, Ohau, William Eagle of Te Hero, and Charles and Stephen, of K&rorl, and also by four sisters, Mesdames J. Bowler, of Fitzherbert West, J. Hoskins, Palmerston North, E. Allen, Shannon and R. Williamson, of Karori. Tho interment took place at Levin. Goif Club. The draw for the third qualifying round and the medal round, to be played next Saturday, is as follows:—Hennessey v. Bovis; McDonald v. Boyd; Elvine* v. Thurston; Clayton v. Stern; Murrow v. Harding, Wiehart v. Brann; Collins v. Edwards; McSweeney v. Blackwood; Moody v. Ostler; Cronquest v. Massey. The winner of the bogey match last Saturday was S. Boyd Improvements to the course are now under way. the rushes already removed giving members some idea of how much better the course will be after the work la completed. In addition to this, new drains are being put in by Mr G. Wilkinson, and it is hoped that in the future, lost balls and wet feet will be the exception.
