Obituary
MRS M. S. C. JONES The death occurred at her late residence, 4 Duigan street, Gonville, Wanganui, on June 34, of Mrs M. S. C. Jones, widow of.the late Henry Jones, of Round Hill, Shannon. The deceased lady had been confined to her bed for some considerable ‘ time and bore her illness with great fortitude. She was , bora at Awanui, North Auckland, 72 i years ago, and came with her husband from Raumai to farm at Round Hill, j Shannon, in 1900. Following the sale of the farm Mrs Jones and her family resided in the township for some time, .vhere she was very highly respected. O a retiring disposition, Mrs Jones' >nly interest outside her home, where aer hospitality was enjoyed by many, was her work for the Presbyterian Church, of which she was an ardent member. In 1922 they moved to Wanganui. Apart from many old friends, she leaves three daughters— Mrs J. M. Russell (Wanganui), Mrs D. Robinson (Palmerston North), and Miss Gladys Jones (Wanganui), to whom the deepest sympathy is extended. The only son, Rhys, made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War. The funeral took place at Aramoho, Wanganui, following a service at the house conducted by Rev. Mr Catherwood. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. M. Russell and D. Robinson (sons-in-law), R. E. A. Jones (nephew), W. L. Russell, S. Millan and R. J. Law (Shannon).
