From Our Own Correspondent. Football Club. Mr W. J. Osborne presided over a full attendance of the management committee of the Aplti Football Club on Monday evening. Members of the social committee were also present. It was decided to instal electric flood-lights at the Apitl Domain so that local teams may have evening practises. The annual dance Is to be held on Thursday, June 24, and a professional orchestra lias been engaged. Further particulars will be advertised. The Oroua selectors have chosen the following, lrom which the Oroua representative team to play Rangitikei at Kimbolton on Saturday, will be chosen: Backs: Pollard (Waituna), L. Elliott (A.), Gibbs (Kimbolton), Gray (W.), Wingate (A.). Golf. During last week-end the Apitl Golf Club held a handicap competition. The best cards were handed in were from Mrs A. W. Bird and D. C. Buckman, who were later presented with the competition trophies. School Radio Fund. The second euchre party to augment the school radio fund was held m the Oddfellows’ hall on Wednesday evening and was uttended by a large gathering oi card players. The prizes were won by Mrs J. bmith and Mr Evan Lewis, and the consolation prizes went to Mrs A. R. McNae and Mr J. R. Osborne. Supper waa served, after which there was a short dance, the music being supplied by Mrs J. Smith. Personal. Mr and Mrs S. Nelems have been visiting Apiti, renewing oil friendships and staying with Mr and Mi’s VV. li. Watson. Air and Airs G. Cowan, of “Crossipoi, are at present holidaying in Auckland. ltev. L. J. Hodson and Air S. J. Alar Lin attended the meeting of the AVanganui | Presbytery at Aiarton on Tuesday. Mrs Hodson and the Alisse3 Hodson attended the P.A. at which Miss Matthews, a missionary from India, was the speaker. Air David Cowan is home on holiday from Cromwell, Central Otago.
