“Style Trend Necessitates Corset Wardrobe”
SAYS VISITING EXPERT BOUQUET FOR NEW ZEALAND WOMEN Paying her initial visit to the Dominion as representative of the Bon Ton Corset Company for the purpose of making contacts with agents in the principal centres, Mrs. Lois Dibrell spent some hours in Palmerston North yesterday at Messrs. Collinson and Cunninghame’s store. This charming American hails from Texas and has the fascinating drawl of the southerner, but her movements belie her speech for she is a quick mover, knows what she wants and how to get it. Straight from New York (fast becoming the style centre) she has come to the Dominion, arriving about a week ago, and after travelling through both islands she will leave for Australia, returning to New Zealand in the spring. The style-trend to-day makes it necessary for th© woman who values her appearance, to be well corseted, Mrs. Dibrell told” The Times.” And so milady must be provided with a corset wardrobe to ensure the correct founda tion garment for every occasion, whether it be for morning wear, in pursuit ot sport, at afternoon parties, five o’clock or evening functions. With this attention to detail it is claimed one’s clothes last better and there is the added satisfaction of always looking one’s best. But of course it should be understood individual fitting is necessary for complete satisfaction. The visitor is charmed with her first glimpse of New Zealand which she considers somewhat similar to her own west coast and she has found New Zealand women cordial, unaffected and nice to wait upon. A love of sport and a desire to be comfortable impressed tho visitor as the chief characteristics ot the womenfolk of tho Dominion, and this was no reflection on their appearance either, for this would be appear to be the trend of women the world over.
