Sopwith’s America’s Cup challenger Endeavour arrived towed by tho Viva which relieved the coastguard cutter 20 miles out. The Endeavour was escorted by the yacht Yankee and the schooner Atlantic. Captain Ned Heard suid the crew of 19 were none the worse as the result of their experience. He revealed that tho tow line was purposely dropped at the height of the storm to make tfje going easier in the heavy sea. The Viva’s crew were unaware of this. The Endeavour was becalmed for three days but had no difficulty after that.
