SMALLER TOWNS BEING CONSIDERED Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Plans are now well advanced for the extension of the Government’s housing scheme to smaller cities and secondary towns. Tenders are in progress of being called for the construction of 25 houses in Wanganui, 23 in Palmerston North and 10 in Westport. Next week it is intended to call tenders for 20 dwellings in Invercargill, 20 in Hastings, 10 in Oamaru and 15 in Gisborne. Within a month it is hoped to call tenders for 25 houses in Hamilton, 23 in Timaru, 10 in Masterton, 8 in Greymouth, 8 in Thames, and 7 in Ashburton. Contracts for these houses will range from one to ton house contracts.
