Mrs S. J. Parkes, of “Parklands ” Main street, left last night for Auckland, where she will spend a month’s holiday. Mrs R. H. Meade, of Cloverlea Settlement, Palmerston North leaves Wellington to-day by the Ruahine for Ireland where she will visit relatives. Mrs E. J. Trow, of 410 Ruahine street, who has been a resident of Palmerston North for 45 years, celebrated her 71st birthday on Saturday. She has seen Palmerston North grow from a small town to the thriving city it is to-day. The friends of Mrs Trow will extend her good wishes and congratulations.
