MUSICAL REVUE PRESENTS FOUR SMART BANDS (State: Screening To-day.) The cast of “In Town To-night," is elaborate radio revu3, reads like a mixture of several big radio, theatre and cinema programmes. It consists of such famous artists as Jack Barry, Stanley Holloway—who renders his two popular radio hits “Young Albert and tho Lion” and “With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm"—Leslie Sarony, Tassa Deane, Val Rosing, thoso clever dancers Wilson, Iveppel and Betty, The Three Radio Rogues, Walsh and Barker, The Dynamite Kids, Finlay Currie, The Seven Thunderbolts, and The Tiller Dancing Girls. The films also features four wellknown bands—Dave Apollon’s Dance Orchestra, Howard Jacob’s well-known broadcasting band, Billy Merrin’s Commanders and the famous Kneller Hall Military Band, which consists of 40 instrumentalists. “In Town To-night," which is a British Dominions release, is a radio musical on similar lines to the popular picture “On the Air," and was made by the same director.

London Film Producions are now working on a script for a sequel to ‘‘Sanders of the River," the biggest money-maker they have so far produced.. It is understood that Paul Robe son will play the leading role, supported by Sabu, boy star of “Elephant Boy," and direction will be in the hands of Zoltan Korda. <s> <3> <®> <S> It is urged that the giving of toy soldiers to children ought to be discouraged. Bing is aided und abetted in his foolery by a royal cast that includes Madge Evans, Edith Fellows, Donald Meeu, John (Jalluudet and Louis Armstrong, coloured king of swing music, and his band. Miss Evans does her role to tun, supplementing a natural gift of loveliness with some very capable acting. Little Edith Fellows, 13, but a fullfledged actress, gives a perfomauce that matches even her own in “She Married Her Boss." Donald Meek once again docs the trick, squeezing every laugh out of a part that just drips with comedy. John Gallaude, in brief appearance, is completely convincing in a difficult role. The story concerns Larry Poole, an ex-convict vagabond troubadour. He is asked by a condemned murderer iu prisou to look up the family of tho murdered man. Larry finds a little girl and her grandfather, poverty-striken. Then begins the highly entertaining tale of how Larry contrives to keep the child and the elderly man out of county institutions while falling iu love with a welfare worker whose duty is to put them there. Norman McLeod is smooth and fust-paced; and Jo Swerliug’s screen ploy is entirely admirable
