FTom Our Own CorrespondentSchool Picnic. Although the day chosen tor the school picnic was fine, it was held in the school grounds owing: to wet conditions underfoot. An enjoyable dance was held after the picnic in the Hukanui hall. Excellent dance music was supplied by Mr A. F. Lawrence, and Mr Leo Wenham made an efficient M.C. Lucky spot waltzes were won by Miss A. Golder and Mr E. Fafeita. and Mr and Mrs T. C. Golder. Dancing wan continued till midnight. Among those present were Mesdames W. Friends of Mrs N. Goodin will regret to learn that she is an inmate of the Pahlatua private hospital. Friend* of Mrs Ronald Udy will regret to learn that owing to 111-health she is unable to continue as "top lady” In the local tennis team. Mr and Mrs J. Sutherland are entertaining the Misses Gray, from Wellington, and also visitors from Stratford. Misses K. and E. Wenham spent the week-end with their parents, Mr and Mrs L. Wenham. Miss M. Twentyman also spent the week-end with her parents. Friends of Mr W. Freeth will regret to jjfcear that he is in hospital in Wellington.
