Gisborne Bride Favours Magnolia Satin

EDGECOMBE—HARKIS From Our Own Correspondent. HASTINGS, Alarch 17. 1 j,®*'* -Andrew’s Church was the scene of the wedding last evening of Yvonne | Louise, the eldest daughter of Air. and ! Mrs. T. J. Harris, Rcre, and Gordon Clifford, only son of Air. and the late Mrs. W. T. Edgecombe, The Rev. A. H. Dow officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely wedding gown of magnolia satin. The bodice with its V neck finished with a sprig of orange blossoms, fell in soft folds aud was slightly ruched at the waistline. The sleeves featured the square shoulder effect and were tight-fitting to the wrist and finished with satin buttons to the elbow. The gored skirt was tight-fitting to the knees where it flared into a long train. Her veil of fine tulle appliqued with Honiton lace, fell from a halo of orange blossoms. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of cactus dahlias, roses and lilies, with loops of streamers to tone with her frock. The bride was attended by four maids—Misses Lorraine Harris (chief) sister of the bride, Joan Bartram, Lois Alatthcws (cousin of the bride), and Lorna Edgecombe (cousin of the bridegroom). They were attired aliko m beautiful frocks of gold chiffon. Tho bodices had V necks finished with soft chiffon roses, the very full sleeves had double cuffs edged with accordion, pleated frills. They wore halos of golden lilies edged with a deeper gold, golden mittens and velvet shoes to tone and carried fans of flame coloured polyanthus roses with flame-coloured streamers. Amber necklets and earrings, gifts from tho bridegroom, were worn. The tiny flower-girl, Ann Harris (cousin of the bride) was dressed in an Empire frock of parchment chiffon. A dainty flat posy of natural blue flowers was worn on her brow and she wore gilt slippers and carried a Victorian posy to match. Tho small page boy, Alalcolm Jackson, wore a tailored Cromwell suit ot magnolia satin. The cut away coat had a high neck with rtiffles and tightfitting knee breeches. The bridegroom was attended by Air. Raymond Edgecombe (cousin), as best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs. Denis Ryan (Palmerston North), Russell Alathewson (cousin), Napier, and Broughton Scannell (Auckland). Air. Irvine Moore officiated at tho organ. The reception was held at the City Hall, which was gaily decorated in autumn tints. The guests were welcomed by Air. and Airs. Harris, Air. W. T. Edgecombe, and Mrs. Ross (aunt of tho bridegroom). The bride’s mother wore a gold lace frock and coatee. The bodice was fashioned with a side cowl neckline finished with a spray of golden dahlias, edged in nigger brown. She wore a brown silk velour hat with a high crown introducing a light gold feather, and carried a bouquet of lovely autumn flowers. The bride’s grandmother, Airs. S. Harris, was frocked in a floral silk marocain, and carried a beautiful bouquet of autumn flowers. The bride travelled in a mole worsted tailored suit t magnolia satin blouso, and stone marten fur. She wore a smart dark mole toque finished with an attractive buckle and tag. The festivities ended with a jolly dance. ,
