Obituary
MRS. E. PIKE. The death occurred in Palmerston North at an early hour on Thursday morning last of Airs. E. Pike, a resident of New Zealand for the past 58 years. At the age of 16 years Airs. Piice journeyed from England with her parents in the sailing ship Hudson, and on landing at Napier the family proceeded to Wairba where Airs. Pike later married Air. Geo. Pike. Forty years ago the couple came with their family to Palmerston North where, except for short periods the late Airs. Pike resided ;«itil her death which occurred in her 74th year. Her husband predeceased her seven years ago. Airs. Pike leaves three sons, Alessrs W. A. Pike (Wellington), Charles J. Pike (Palmerston North) and M. A. Pike (Dunedin), and five daughters, Alesdames A. J. Francis (Upper Hutt), P. Whitehead and E. W. Drake (Palmerston North), B. Singleton (Wanganui) and Aliss Pike (Palmerston North). There are also 20 grandchildren and ten great-grand-children.
