Future of Flock House
Government’s Policy Stated agricultural training. Par Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A statement of tho Government’s policy concerning the future operations of Flock House was made to-day by the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. \V. Lee Martin). “Training at Flock House is free to all New Zealanders between the ages of 144 and 18 and within the limits of the accommodation available at the station,” said the Minister. “The boys accepted for • the Flock House course must have an intention of engaging permanently iu agricultural pursuits. They must be of good character and before entry must submit a satisfactory medical certificate as to fitness. The parents or guardians of trainees are required to provide boys with the necessary outfit. “The course at Flock House embraces 12 months of practical training in all branches of farming, and this is followed by apprenticeship with farmers approved by tho Department of Agriculture for a period of three years or until the boys reach the age of 20, whichever is sooner.”
