BOTH PARALYSIS CASES NOW PROVED POSITIVE

Bainesse and Rangiotu Schools Are Closed NO FRESH CASES REPORTED No additional cases of infantile paralysis had been notified to the authorities in Palmerston North last night. Further information made available yesterday was to the effect that in the suspected case of paralysis, a girl from Mangawhata aged seven, the infection had been proved to be positive. Both instances are, however, mild cases. Each of the patients is suffering from partial paralysis of one foot. Both the Bainesse and Rangiotu schools have been closed pending further instructions from the Health Department m Wellington. The patients’ homes have been isolated and all possible precautions taken to prevent any spread of the disease. No visitors will bo admitted to the children’s ward and Royal Alexandra ward of the Palmerston North hospital until further notice; also no children will be admitted as visitors to any part of the hospital. Children for tonsil operations and non-urgent medical cases will not be admitted to the children’s ward until further notice. TWO FURTHER CHRISTCHURCH CASES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Two cases of infantile paralysis were notified iu Christchurch to-day—a girl aged seven and a child of six mouths—both from the same neighbourhood in Linwood. There are no additional notifications from couutry districts.
