Mr Morse Has Plans For Lord Nuffield’s Gift
DISTRIBUTING £I4OO FOR NAPIER. From Our Own Correspondent. NAPIER, March IG. Ways and means of spending the sum of £I4OO, Napier’s share of Lord Nuffield 's recent donation to various municipalities of the Dominion, has occupied the uiind of the Mayor, Mr C. O. Morse, who has announced that ho had formed an outline of how best to use the money, but he w r as not prepared at the present juncture to give details of his plans. Various organisations whom Mr Morse thought were not entitled to share in the gift had already come forward with applications for an allocation. While in Timaru last week, Mr Morse was able personally to thank Lord Nuffield for his gift to the municipality. Lord Nuffield and Mr Morse dined together, and they went into the matter of how best to spend the money.
