WINNERS ON FINAL DAY. Per Press Association. NELSON, Last Night. At the United Fire Brigades demon strations which concluded to-day the winners of the three shields, the championship shield, the high pressure shield and the manual shield, were the Petone team and the gold medals were presented. The results of the events were:— Four-men motor: Devonport 49 4-ssec. 1, Waipukurau 51 2-ssec. 2, Petone 53 4-ssee. 3. Two-men rescue: Oarnaru and Hawera equal first, 34sec., To Aroha 36see, 3, Taumarunui and Kumara equal fourth, 37 2-ssee., Reef ton 38 2-ssec. 6. Four-men motor pump from standpipe: Petone 71 l-ssec. I, Hastings 75 4-ssec. 2 Waipukurau 77 l-ssec. 3, Carterton 77 2-ssec. 4, Hawera 80 3-ssec. 5, Upper Hutt 80 3-ssec. 5. During the running the Petone branch fell off, but their protest against disqualification was upheld.
