Hereworth Annual School Swimming Sports
RESULTS OF EVENTS. From Our Own Correspondent. HASTINGS, Last Night. I The annual swimming sports of the Hereworth. School wero held in perfect weather on Saturday afternoon. The new manuka brushwood hedges kept out any wind and made it ideal for the competitors. The only thing that marred the day was tho absence of parents and friends, who had been nsked not to come in view of the school’s voluntary isolation ae far a.** possible from outside contacts. T'iiis meant that the most popular race, fathers and their sons, was not held, nor tho Old Boys' race, and the prizegiving is being neid over till the end of the term.
Owing to tho large influx of small new boys, tho standard in most cases Was not as high as usual, the only new record being in the always amusing tub race. Bale, a junior, did very well indeed to beat the seniors in the plunge. Tho school wishes to thank Mr. Russell once more for his kindness in coaching and judging the diving. The results were:—
