Men “Stay-in” in Timber Mill
VICTIMISATION OF THE MANAGER ALLEGED (From Our Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, Last Night. As tho result of a dispute with the management of Wilson Timber Mills, Ltd., 62 employees of the company’s mill at To Whaiti decided unanimously by ballot upon a stay in strike. It is understood that the men allege victimisation by the company against the manager who, it is understood, was dismissed when he refused to reinstate a man whom he had ordered to sign off. The single men are remaining in the mill over night and will be replaced during the day by tho married men, allowing the single men a period of liberty. The men state that they have ample provisions and are determined to maintain their stand until the manager is reinstated.
