Alleged Breach of Warranty In Sale of Books
PALMERSTON SOLICITOR’S CLAIM. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Misrepresentation in the sale of a complete set of the second edition < f ilalsbury’s “Laws of England” was alleged by John Burns Crichton, solicitor, of Palmerstou North, against Butterworth and Co. (Australia) Ltd., law and medical publishers, >u a civil action in the Supreme Court to day. Plaintiff alleged there had been a breach of warranty in that volumes supplied to him were not new and ht sought to recover £57 3s, the amount paid by him for the books together with £3O damages for breach of warranty. The case will continue to-morrow.
