Coming-of-age Dance
ruNcrcow at maadax. Some 150 guests gathered at the Ko.inoi Hall on Friday, invited by Mr H. Cotter to celebrate the coming-of-age of his son George. Visitors were present from Porangahau, Dannsvirke, FeiMrng, Palmerston North, nnd all the surrounding districts. The time was spent in dancing to excellent music supplied by the Bagamnfiin*' orchestra, whiie Miss Boss and Miss £. Ammundsen played extras. The duties of M.O. were capably carried out by Mr W. Eckert. The hostesses for the evening were Miss jCottee (flsxsl pink). Miss Doris trotter (pink satin, and net), Miss Laara Cotter (white lace and net trimmed with blue nak wad flowers) and Mrs B. Bonrke (white floral satin). After a beautiful home-made supper had beau handed round, Mr CaUesen, of Palmerston North, asked the guests to siao and drink the health of Mr George Cotter who, upon responding, thanked jus father and gueste for the very enjoyable evening they had given him, and Idea for the many beautiful presents. KrJta Heckler, of Ngatun, proposed the toast of ‘‘The Cotter Family," So which Mr Cotter suitably replied. Mr Beorgt Cotter was presented with the traditional golden key, upon which each guest signed hie or her autograph. A very pleasant evening terminated fat the early hours of the morning with lbs singing of “Auld Long Syne.”
