Schoolboys Write Complete History of Parish History
BIRMINGHAM. After three years' patient research the children in the village school at Claverley, Shropshire, have just completed a 20-000-word history of flieir parish church. The church has a long history. Part of it is Norman; other parts were built between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. When tho church was Being restored a little more than 30 years ago, a series of mural paintings was discovered on the wall inside the tower. The senior boys of the school are following the example of their farback ancestors who painted the walls of the church. Their mural paintings are being done on the walls of their own schoolrooms, 1500 squaro feet of which have already been covered by pictures done under the direction of their headmaster.
