VITAL STATISTICS.
FIGURES FOR LEVIN. The following figures, •which have been, supplied by the Registrar (Mr. E. E. Hirst), are indicative of the vital statistics for Levin for the quarter ended December 31st, 1936, the figure-? for the corresponding period of 1933 being shown in parenthesis:—Births: European 27 (19); Maori 5 (3). Deaths: European 13 (11); Maori 1 (4). Including three by the Registrar, eight European marriages were registered, as against six for the 1935 quarter (none by Registrar). For the year ended December 31st, the figures, with those for 1933 shown in parenthesis, were:—Births: European 95 (77); Maori 18 (21)r. Deaths: European 51 (41); Maori 12 (13). The European marriages for the year totalled 41 (including seven by the Registrar), while for 1935 26 marriages were registered (including one by the Registrar).
