From Our Own Correspondent Ladies’ Anglican Guild, A successful card afternoon was run by tho members of the Ladies' Anglican Guild. Euchre and competitions were the principal forms of entertainment. The euchre tournament was won by Mrs A, Guy, with Mrs Robson runner-up. The winner of the competition was Miss M, ! Thomas. I Sports Committee. ' The programme committee of the ! Sports Club met on Tuesday evening, i when Mr D. H.eggie presided. Notification was received from the Manawatu sub-centre that the 440 yards fiat subcentre championship had been allotted to Bunnythorpe. This event has, therefore, been added to a very attractive pro- : gramme. i School Committee. j The monthly meeting of the school committee was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs A. F. McKenzie (chairman), O. Jackson (secretary), A. O’Donnell, W. Andrew and R. Abraham (head master). An apology was received from Mr W.. Maxwell. The head master reported the roll at 101 and the average attendance 93. The proficiency examinations were held on Tuesday. The visiting committeeman, Mr O'Donnell, reported on various matters that needed attention. .Arrangements were put in hand for the annua! breaking-up ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, December 17. j Tennis. 1 j Eunnythorpe played their first match of i the season on Saturday last, when they were at home to Whakarongo.
