Progress of Terrace End
MEETING OF PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE.
Mr. F. J. Oakley presided at a meeting of the Terrace End Progressive Association last evening. The matter of electing a chairman for the ensuing year was held over until next meeting. Satisfaction was expressed at the decision of the Post-and Telegraph Department to erect street telephone boxes at the Hospital and corner of Filzroy and Lim brick streets.
The West End Progressive Association wrote asking for support of a suggestion that red lights should be placed over all lire alarm boxes in the city.— To be supported. The chairman outlined a programme of work for the 12 months. There were many things the association could do, he thought, such as continuing to press for cheaper bus fares, bus shelters, tree planting, and the like. The next meeting is to be held on the third Tuesday in January.
