Lytton Street School
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION MEETING. A net profit of £2B was announced as being the result of -Parents’ Day proceedings at a meeting of the Lyttou Street School Parents’ Association held cn -Monday evening-with Mr. - T. Donaldson (president) presiding. Mr. Donaldson-eulogised the work of the-many helpers who had contributed to the success of Parents’ Day, stating that the 1 success' that had attended the gathering was indicative of what could be achieved by ’ the enthusiastic organisation which the association possessed. It was most encouraging indeed to find parents so ready and willing to support the school and the objective of improving the welfare of the children. Thanks weer due to Mr. G. A. Batt (headmaster) and his staff for the' very willing co-operation accorded the gathering. Other speakers endorsed the remarks of the chairman and Mr. 0. V. Jewell conveyed the thanks and appreciation of the school committee to tho association. ■
Various questions were considered and it was agreed to deposit £lO of the profit in a separate account to form the nucleus of a fund for the building of an assembly hall.
