CORONATION CHAIR. The Coronation Chair in Westminster Abbey was made by Walter, the King’s painter, at the command of Edward I. in 1300, to contain the stone of Scone, brought by' the King from Scotland. In this chair every sovereign has been crowned since Edward H., and it will be used again next , year when Edward VIII. is crowned.
