AUSTRALIA’S GREAT DAM.—The building of the Hume Dam on tbe M urray river, above Aibury, forges a new link in the chain of irrigation systems throughout Australia. The great work was officially opened by the Governor-General of Australia, Lord Gowrie, on November 21. This give s a general view of the eoremony and the gathering at the foot of the water when the water was released by the Governer-Gcncral touching an electric button.
