Season’s Record at Sydney Wool Sales

The wool sales were resumed with good general competition from Yorkshire and tho Continent, while America was a strong bidder for suitable wools. The market was very firm at the closing rates of tho last series for all descriptions, but average and inferior sort*, were irregular and prices for them wore fully 5 per cent, lower. Greasy Merino made a season's record of Slid. Thero were 13,513 bales offered and 10,654 sold, also 1222 privately. Substantial Increase In Dominion’s Flocks GOOD LAMBING SEASON. WELLINGTON, Last Night."*Large increases* in tho Dominion's flocks are indicated in the lambing estimates for the current year, details of which were issued to-day by the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Lee Martin. The estimated number of lambs tailed in the North Island is 9,322,476 compared with the actual number last year of 8,500,075. The South Island estimate is 7,539,576 and last year's 7,196,542. The estimated average lambing percentages this year are: North Island, 90.50; South Island, 90.10. Tho Dominion total estimate is 16,862,052 compared with tho actual number in 1935 of 15,696,6.17.
