LONDON LUXURIES The following notes on the very latest London flats will be of interest to New Zealand flat-dwellers, states the New Zealand Herald. A kitchen table with an enamel top and mounted on rubber wheels is part of the kitfihen equipment, and the built-in refrigerators have table-top accommodation above them. Shower baths and hand showers fitted to each bath are a luxury too to-day which will be a commonplace to-morrow. Women will not have to go further than a yard outside their front-door entrance to post their letters, as there are postal chutes on each floor for correspondence. Parcels left for tenants during the day when the flats are empty are stored in numbered compartments and delivered in the evening when the tenants return. Private lifts to twelve of the fiats in a block overlooking the Green Park, London, will make them as personal and intimate as small houses. Even the collecting of dust and refuse will be done as discreetly as possible, bins being inserted on one side of the wall and removed on the other, service, side of the flats.
