Pantry Afternoon For Miss Start-Moray

Miss Jean Stuart-Moray, an outstanding favourite with everyone in Makiuo and one who has always worked most unselfishly for the good of the district, is just now ia view of tho near approach of her wedding day, very much "on a fuss" and numerous parties have been arranged by friends anxious to do her honour. The first was a "pantry" tea given on Wednesday by Mrs. J. N. Cumings and her daughter, Mrs. W. Maleolmsou, at the former’s home in Lethbridge street. Mrs. Cumings was robed in navy lloral marocain relieved with fawn, Mrs. Maleolmson in hyacinth blue silk crepo while the guest of the afternoon wore navy silk marocain with finishing touches of white and a becoming hat to match. Scarlet tlowcrs had a very bright effect in the drawing room and music and games provided the afternoon’s interest. A cherry community, sing was accompanied by Miss Stuart-Moray, vocal items were charmingly rendered by Mrs. E. Petty and Miss Lottie Baker and Mrs. E. Vautier gave two amusing recitations that were responsible for much hilarity. Jolly games were zestfully entered into by tho guests and altogether tho party was a very pleasant one.

Following afternoon tea Mrs. Cumings asked tho bride-elect to take possession of her parcels and this having been dono and their contents displayed she made a happy little speech in appreciation of the many useful gifts made her. The singing of "She’s A Jolly Good Fellow" then took place and the party ended later with all joining hands to sing "Auld Lang Syne." The guests were Mesdames R. Robinson, E. Stuart-Moray, J. McDonald, Wilton, 11. E. Thurston, W. E. Baker, P. R. Simpson, S. Mayhew, E. Petty, E. Vautier, W. Huddlestone, H. Hayden, S. Avery, J. Simpson, W. Reid, At. Reid, Misses Ngacre Cumings, Joan McDonald, Lottie Baker and Eileen Simpson.
