Brace, the secretary of the Manawatu Crieker, Association, has received advice that the Southland Cricket Association is unablo to meet the holders of the trophy (Manawatu) by December 15, the date suggested by tho New Zealand Cricket Association for tho first challenge. It was autographed by the majority of those present. The siheet has now been photographed, and copies will be available as a souvenir. The events, which were for men, slioived a high standard of physical development. T. Twigge won tho championship and the McKay Cup with 324 points, G. Forster, the runner-up gained 292 points. The competitions were judged by Mr. V. M. Gerrand and Mr. 11. Butcher. The results were as follow:—Tumbling: T. Twigge, 66 points, 1; G. Forster, 55, 2; K. Metcalfe, 54, 3. Vaulting the horse: T.
