Mammoth London Flat Project
COUNTY COUNCIL SCHEME. British Official Wireless. Received Tuesday, 7.30 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 16. Ono of the largest schemes for municipal flats ever considered by the London County Council will be examined by that body to-morrow. The development is recommended of a site of 50 acres formerly occupied by tho White City Exhibition at a cost of nearly £1,437,000. Tho scheme provides for 2286 dwellings, containing 7,290 rooms. All the blocks will bo five storeys high, and accommodation ■will be provided for nearly 11,000 people. Schools, public buildings and children’s playgrounds will bo included in the layout.
