BULLS. Dalgety and Company Limited report on their fortnightly sale held last Monday, September 28, when good entries of all classes of stock with the exception of dairy cattle came to hand. We yarded 1,100 hoggets and report a total clearance at very satisfactory prices. There was a strong demand for pigs and keen competition for fat cattle. P.A. heifers, £6 15s; 2yr. Hereford heifers, £5 15s. MANGAWEKA. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co. Ltd. report a yarding of 200 sheep and 270 cattle at the above sale on Thursday. The enquiry for cattle was well sustained and competition was keen on all lots submitted. DANNEVIRKE The Hawke's Bay Farmers’ Co-op. Association Ltd., report on Dannevirke sale, held on October 1, as under: — They offered a good yarding of all clases of sheep and cattle to a good attendance of local and outside buyers. Sheep sold well at late rates. Tho cattle yarded came forward in good condition and wero keenly competed for, enabling them to effect a total clearance. Messrs Williams and Kettle Ltd. report having held their Dannevirke autumn cattle fair yesterday, Thursday, when they offered a big yarding of cattle of all classes. The offering Included a number of good quality lines of station cattle which met with good competition and rates ruling at other centres were fully maintained. There was a big attendance of buyers representing West Coast, Taranaki, Walrarapa, Northern Hawke’s Bay and local districts. Sheep also maintained late rates and a good clearance was effected at the following prices:— Account H. Cowper, Kaitoke: 15 fat Hereford cows, £8 17s; 41 fat P.A. and Hfd. bullocks, £9 ss. Ltd., report having conducted a very successful clearing sale of livestock, furniture and Implements at Whetukura on Wednesday, September 30, on account of Messrs. Nikolaison Bros. The 44 cows ill profit came forward in excellent condition and made the satisfactory average of £6. Included in this lino were a number of three-quarter cows. Horses wero in keen demand, a six-year draught mare making £7B 10s. Implements, sundries and furniture sold at market rates.
