Feilding Crowds Out Community Sing

THE APPEAL OF VINCENT RYAN. For the community sing organised by the Feilding branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union on Thursday evening the accommodation offered by the Majestic Theatre was hopelessly inadequate for tho crowd that desired to hear the songsters from Wellington and Australia. Hundreds failed to gain admission and left disappointed at missing the opportunity of hearing and seeing the popular Australian comedian Vincent Ryan who was associated with Messrs. Will Mason and Frank Crowther in the evening’s entertainment.. It was a bright and entertaining evening from start to finish and was thoroughly eujoyed by all fortunate enough to gain admission. Mrs. 11. 11. Buchanan, president of the local branch of the division introduced the visitors and at the conclusion of the programme expressed appreciation of the splendid support accorded the division's effort. In addition to the songs and mirth provided by the visitors from the capital Mrs. J. Curtis, of Halcombe, contributed a vocal number while Misses Betty and Joan Green did a tap dance. Posies were presented to Misses Green and Mrs. Curtis by Mrs. E. M. .Scott, secretary of the division.
