Italy Increases Defences
FRIZES FOR TWINS United Press Association—By Eloctrlo Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.10 p.m. ROME, Sept. 12. Cabinet has decided to increase the basic salaries of State employees by 8 per cent. Extraordinary appropriations are announced for the army, navy ana air force "in order to raise our military preparations to the necessities of the international situation within a limited period." Italy’s policy of self-sufficiency in raw materials is being vigorously continued. Special measures are being taken to raise the birthrate, including prises for twins.
